The latest t-shirt and poster from Cavity Colors features the maggot-infested zombie from Lucio Fulci's Zombie. Regarded in Italy an unofficial sequel to Dawn of the Dead, Zombie follows a group of survivors caught in an onslaught of flesh-eating zombie, whilst a doctor tries to find a cure. Cavity Colors have announced a tribute t-shirt and poster that will be available on Friday, September 6th:
"As we are gearing up for Fall and the season of ghouls and witches,we wanted to bring you something special that is inspired by one of my personal favorite zombie movies. As a total horror nerd, we all know there's a ton of amazing zombie related movies such as return of the living dead, dawn and day of the dead, and of course night of the living dead. But one movie sort of stands out from them all when it comes to realism and absolute gore, and that movie is Lucio Fulci's ZOMBIE!
Released in Italy as Zombi 2 as an unofficial sequel to Romero's Dawn of The Dead, it stands to be one of the most iconic zombie films of the era, and featured some of the most realistic flesh eating / gore scenes ever capture in a zombie film! Let's also not forget one of the other most important aspects of this film, and that is the music. With a soundtrack by Fabio Frizzi (the beyond, kill bill 1) that sets the tone for the absolute bleakness of the film, and accents the characters being eaten one by one on an island where a doctor has already been experimenting with cures to keep the dead from rising (which obviously didn't work).
There have been a few different tribute designs for this movie, but I wanted to make this one stand out in a different way, while still capturing the iconic "Zombie" that comes slowly rising from the grave with a brain full of maggots!"
Directed by Lucio Fulci, Zombie stars Tisa Farrow, Ian McColloch, Richard Johnson, Al Cliver and Auretta Gay. We've included the trailer for Zombie below, along with a look at the shirt and poster. *This story comes from Jemma George.
The shirt and poster combo will sell for $40 (limited to 20), while the shirt itself is selling for $25 (limited to 100). Both items will be available this Friday at:
