Brad Andrson (The Machinist, The Call) will be starting production shortly on Eliza Graves, a movie loosely based on Edgar Allan Poe’s The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether. We already knew that Kate Beckinsale and Jim Sturgess would be starring in the movie, but this project just got a lot more interesting with the news that Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley have joined the project.

*Spoiler Warning: We don't know how much of the plot will be known from the start of the movie, so we felt it necessary to add the spoiler tag. It's been previously said that the movie will follow a medical school graduate who takes a job at a mental institution where the inmates have taken over and are posing as doctors. While it was assumed this would be a modern take on the material, Deadline says that it's a "a turn of the century thriller about a young doctor who comes to apprentice at a remote mental institution. He meets a beautiful patient, with whom he falls in love under circumstances which may be much more complicated than they seem."

Will Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley be playing the inmates who pose as doctors? Eliza Graves is expected to begin production this June in Bulgaria. The script was written by Joe Gangemi, and Paranormal Activity‘s Oren Peli is among the producers involved on the project.
