Early next year, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. will take viewers to an island where colossal creatures still roam the land, and King Kong's cry can be heard... and feared. Ahead of Kong: Skull Island's March 10th, 2017 release, the film is teased in a new image from EW.
EW's image shows co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson among the bones of a giant beast. Viewers can expect to see plenty of towering threats onscreen when Kong: Skull Island comes out, and director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kings of Summer) tells EW that his version of Kong will be the biggest one yet:
“Our Kong is by far the biggest Kong that you’ve seen on screen, and that translates to a lot of different things on the island.”
The cast and crew of Kong: Skull Island will be at Comic-Con as part of Warner Bros. Hall H presentation, and we'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated on further announcements regarding the film.
“In the spirit of its worldwide blockbuster Godzilla, Legendary Pictures presents a bold new take on the mythos of another iconic beast with KONG: SKULL ISLAND, which stars Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers and Thor series). Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) and written by John Gatins (Flight) and Max Borenstein (Godzilla), KONG: SKULL ISLAND will fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island. Legendary’s story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline. Thomas Tull (Godzilla, The Dark Knight, Pacific Rim) and Jon Jashni (Godzilla, upcoming Warcraft) will produce and Alex Garcia (Godzilla) will executive produce. The film will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D by Universal Pictures.”
A Legendary movie, Universal Pictures will release Kong: Skull Island in 3D and IMAX 3D on March 10th, 2017.
