New Line Downsizing?

It appears that New Line will be downsizing and releasing 4 films per year instead of the 8 films it currently releases. While its plans for the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th franchises were not mentioned, this will definitely have an impact on future sequel releases:

"It's all part of Warner Bros newly named movie boss Jeff Robinov plan to 'downsize' the division. The mogul has been quite vocal on the need for Warner Bros to cut down on the total number of movies it releases and markets in order to be able to focus attention on its winners."

When you combine this with previous comments from Platinum Dunes regarding no movement on sequels, I think it is going to be a while before we see Jason and Freddy again. It looks like the only real hope we have of seeing a new Friday/Nightmare films is that another production company or successful director want to take a shot at rebooting either character.
