Filming wrapped last month on Shaun of the Dead-director Edgar Wright’s latest film, The World’s End, and two new photos have been released. Production took place in London, with Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, and Rosamund Pike starring in the movie.

“In The World’s End, 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.”

In a recent interview with Empire, Simon Pegg hinted at what we can expect from the movie: "It's a much bigger proposition than the other two films [Shaun/Hot Fuzz]... When you've seen the film, you'll be able to relate each pub name to what happens inside"

The World’s End has an official US release date of October 25th, 2013 and will open earlier in the UK on August 14th. We've also included the first photo from the movie that was previously released by Simon Pegg.
