Ghostbusters 3 talk has been going on for years and it's still not certain that a third movie will be greenlit any time soon. With that being said, we do want to keep readers posted on any major items and we have a new interview where Dan Aykroyd discusses new plot details:

"It’s based upon new research that’s being done in particle physics by the young men and women at Columbia University... Basically there’s research being done that... I can say that the world... our dimension that we live in, our four planes of existence, length, height, width, and time, become threatened by some of the research that is being done. And ghostbusters, new ghostbusters, have to come and some the problem."

To hear more about the project, including Dan Aykroyd's thoughts on Bill Murray not wanting to appear in the movie, watch the clip below. Nothing is official yet, but Ivan Reitman is expected to direct, with many of the original cast members returning.
