It was previously revealed that current True Blood series creator and showrunner Alan Ball would step down after the 5th season. Provided HBO renews True Blood for a 6th season, which is more than likely, a new showrunner has been selected.

True Blood co-executive producer Mark Hudis will take over for Alan Ball, according to a report from Deadline. Hudis was the co-executive producer of True Blood Season 4 as well as the upcoming fifth season, and previously worked on Nurse Jackie, Miss Guided, and That 70's Show. He has signed a two-year deal with HBO that also includes a development component.

Although he's stepping down as showrunner, Alan Ball remains on-board as executive producer and will consult and advise on the development of future True Blood seasons. The fifth season of True Blood kicks off on Sunday, June 10th. For our latest coverage, visit: http://dailydead.com/official-episode-descriptions-from-true-blood-season-5/
