"Online, your memories last forever... but so do your mistakes." The deceptive safety of the screen between teens and the online world is shattered when a malevolent entity crashes a Skype session between six high school friends, forcing them to commit gruesome, self-inflicted acts of violence in front of the computer camera. Going viral gets vicious in Unfriended, as shown in the film's newly released trailer and poster.
"While video chatting one night, six high school friends receive a Skype message from a classmate who killed herself exactly one year ago. At first they think it’s a prank, but when the girl starts revealing the friends’ darkest secrets, they realize they are dealing with something out of this world, something that wants them dead.”
Directed by Levan Gabriadze off a screenplay by Nelson Greaves and produced by Timur Bekmambetov (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), Unfriended stars Shelley Hennig, Renee Olstead, Will Peltz, Courtney Halverson, Matthew Bohrer, Heather Sossaman, and Jacob Wysocki. Gabriadze and Greaves also produce alongside Bekmambetov and Blumhouse’s Jason Blum. From Universal, Unfriended hits theaters on April 17th, 2015.
