We're deeply saddened that actor and producer Nicholas Tucci has passed away at the age of 38.
On Nicholas Tucci's official Facebook page, his father shared the news of his son's passing, writing:
"To the friends of Nicholas Tucci:
This is Alexander Tucci, Nick’s father. On Tuesday, March 3, Nick died at the Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. Nick chose to keep his illness private so that he could continue to pursue his professional and artistic dreams for as long as possible. In the last year, he was able to audition, go on location, and continue the work he loved so much.
To those of you in the film, television, and theater communities...thank you for guiding, encouraging, and supporting Nick. To those of you who enjoyed Nick’s work on the screen and stage...thank you for recognizing his talent and appreciating his efforts. To all...thank you for your gift of friendship to my son."
While he brought memorable characters to life across multiple genres, Tucci made a special impact on the horror genre, playing Felix in You're Next, Office Drone in Chilling Visions: 5 Senses of Fear, Flesh in The Ranger, Jason in Channel Zero: The Dream Door, and voicing Private Prendergast in Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
Tucci produced and starred in the 2018 drama Long Lost, and he continued to do what he loved throughout his life, with multiple projects set to be released posthumously.
Acting alongside a fantastic ensemble, Tucci's performance as Felix in Adam Wingard's You're Next helped cement the film as a truly memorable and unpredictable home invasion horror movie, and he brought a captivating quality to every role that he inhabited. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
