With the Summer season just flying by, the upcoming Flashback Weekend 2018 is now here, with festivities kicking off on Friday, August 3rd at the Crowne Plaza O’Hare (5440 N. River Rd., Rosemont, IL 60018), and the event will run through the afternoon of Sunday, August 5th. For this year’s convention, Flashback Weekend is hosting a cavalcade of horror greats, including Brad Dourif, Tom Holland, Fiona Dourif, William Ragsdale, Alex Vincent, Svengoolie, Michael Berryman, FX legend Steve Johnson, Stephen Geoffreys, as well as Ash vs. Evil Dead’s Dana DeLorenzo and Ray Santiago, and many more. And as if all that wasn’t enough, attendees have the opportunity to see both Fright Night and Child’s Play under the stars in two outdoor screenings hosted by Holland and each film’s respective cast members.

Heather A. Wixson was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, until she followed her dreams and moved to Los Angeles in 2009. A 14-year veteran in the world of horror entertainment journalism, Wixson fell in love with genre films at a very early age, and has spent more than a decade as a writer and supporter of preserving the history of horror and science fiction cinema. Throughout her career, Wixson has contributed to several notable websites, including Fangoria, Dread Central, Terror Tube, and FEARnet, and she currently serves as the Managing Editor for Daily Dead, which has been her home since 2013. She's also written for both Fangoria Magazine & ReMind Magazine, and her latest book project, Monsters, Makeup & Effects: Volume One will be released on October 20, 2021.
