For those that missed the recent news, there will be no Paranormal Activity movie released to theaters this October. Instead, a Latin-themed spinoff, titled Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, will open in January, with Paranormal Activity 5 scheduled for October, 2014. Like the previous sequels, it will be a while before we have any specifics on Paranormal Activity 5, but we do know who will be directing and writing it.

Deadline reports that Gregory Plotkin will make his directorial debut with Paranormal Activity 5, after having worked as the editor and co-producer on Paranormal Activity 3, 4, and The Marked Ones. Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman have been hired to tackle the story and will write "scriptments that will serve as the basis for" Paranormal Activity 5 [via THR]. Recently, the writers worked together on Almanac, an upcoming found footage sci-fi film from Paramount.

Once again, Oren Peli and Jason Blum will be involved on the producing end. It's unlikely we'll know much about this movie until we get closer to October, 2014, but we expect to have much more information on Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones over the next couple of months.
