Capcom has revealed that fan-favorite characters from the Resident Evil franchise will make an appearance in the online "Heroes" mode for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City- "Today we’re pleased to confirm Heroes Mode, another of the online competitive multiplayer modes for our upcoming third person team based shooter Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

In Heroes Mode players will be able to compete in four vs. four multiplayer with classic Resident Evil characters including Leon. S Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Hunk and Ada Wong. Players will assume the role of either the good or bad guys and compete against each other in a battle for survival. But it’s not that simple. Adding a twist to the traditional TPS gameplay, players will not only need to defeat the opposing team but also zombies and B.O.W’s delivering a compelling triple threat battle."

“Delivering a third person shooter team-based experience set in the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City sees players take on the role of an Umbrella Security Service soldier (U.S.S.) in a thrilling triple-threat battle as zombies and favorite B.O.W. (bio-organic weapon) enemies from the Resident Evil series add to the challenge.

A new type of horror comes to Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 20, 2012 when Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City launches in North America, with the PC version to follow."
