We're very excited to share the news that Salem Horror Fest and the Horror Queers podcast are partnering up for a new 3-day virtual pride festival! Frightgown will take place from Friday, June 25 - Sunday, June 27 and the event is in support of the Transgender Law Center:
"Salem, MA - May 12, 2021 - Salem Horror Fest and the Horror Queers podcast have teamed up to present Frightgown, a new 3-day virtual Pride festival celebrating Queer voices in a series of features, shorts, panels, virtual hangouts, exclusive content and so much more in support of the Transgender Law Center.
“After more than a year of being kept apart, isolated and disconnected from our community, the need for a communal experience has never been more vital. Queer people deserve a celebratory event – an opportunity to reconnect, and to engage with the films, people and discussions that contribute to our experience as fans and contributors to the horror genre,” said Joe Lipsett, organizer and co-host of the Horror Queers podcast.
The event will be hosted in a virtual Killer Prom Portal designed to look like an 8-Bit video game that allows for real-time video interactions and live screenings. Guests will be able to explore the high school horror prom setting to meet new people, unlock exclusive content and discover easter eggs throughout the weekend.
The program is headlined by a duo of Grindhouse features: Bad Girls directed by Christopher Bickel and Salem Horror Fest 2020 Audience Winner Death Drop Gorgeous directed by Michael J. Ahern, Christopher Dalpe, and Brandon Perras. Frightgown will also feature over two hours of shorts, panel tributes to the 1990 Clive Barker film Nightbreed, a special issue of Grim magazine, and a virtual drag show. Queer creators are invited to donate a program to the event by submitting through the website.
VIP members will be able to access the program and additional content on demand, and will receive a limited edition Pride Day the 13th hockey mask designed by Uncle Boogieman. For more info, tickets and program details, visit frightgown.com."
