We've seen some great Evil Dead action figures and t-shirts, but not much in the way of high-end collectibles. That will change soon with the announcement that Sideshow Collectibles has acquired the rights to produce products based on Evil Dead 2:

"Sideshow Collectibles is happy to let all deadites and warriors know that Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn Collectibles are coming soon! Get your chainsaw, Olds Delta 88, ready to get your very own soul-eating collectibles soon! In the heroic words of Ash, ‘Groovy…’"

This is great news for Evil Dead fans, but, unfortunately, we don't know anything beyond the fact that they've acquired the license. Most likely, we'll see premium format figures and 1:4 scale statues, but Sideshow is also known for their life-sized bust and prop replicas as well, so we're hoping they go all out with their Evil Dead 2 lineup. Sideshow is sure to be showing off upcoming collectibles during the San Diego Comic-Con and we hope to catch a glimpse of what's to come on the show floor next month.
