Jason Voorhees really hit his stride as a horror movie villain in 1982's Friday the 13th Part III. Racking up a body count in Higgin's Haven—a place outside his comfortable confines at Camp Crystal Lake—Jason donned Shelly's hockey mask for the first time and there was no going back to the canvas sack after that (although that, too, was a creepy headpiece). No matter where the third entry in the franchise ranks on your personal favorites list, any Friday the 13th fan can appreciate Sideshow Collectibles' Jason Voorhees: Legend of Crystal Lake Premium Format Figure, which depicts the cinematic killer as he appeared in Friday the 13th Part III and was recently revealed at Monsterpalooza in Burbank, CA.
Slated for a late spring / early summer release, Sideshow Collectibles’ Jason Voorhees – Legend of Crystal Lake Premium Format Figure features the indomitable horror icon wearing blood-spattered pants and his recognizable buttoned-up shirt. As if taking notice of a new victim or even a potential challenger, Jason's hockey mask-covered head is cocked to the side with his red-stained machete at the ready.
Complimenting the impressively detailed replication of Jason is the dock board base on which he stands. Frozen in time underneath the weathered planks are several of Jason's victims, shown in the anguished expressions they displayed while being killed in Steve Miner's film. Included amongst these poor souls is Chris' boyfriend, Rick, whose left eyeball can be seen popping out of its socket as Jason's hands press against his skull with a powerful pressure that would put any workbench's vice grip to shame.
