With the San Diego Comic-Con being one of the biggest genre events of the year, companies are already starting to announce their plans, and NECA kicked off their SDCC-exclusive figure announcements by revealing Super Freddy:

"We’re kicking off a new series of features spotlighting this year’s San Diego Comic-Con action figure exclusives! Summer’s just around the corner — it won’t be long until you can snag one these limited edition beauties at our booth. If you can’t attend Comic-Con, we will be making LIMITED QUANTITIES available both inside and outside the US. Specifics will be announced shortly before the convention begins.

SDCC Exclusive #1: Super Freddy Retro 8″ Clothed Action Figure!

This is the first time Super Freddy (from A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 5: The Dream Child) has been made by anyone as an action figure! He was first revealed at Action Figure Insider, and now we’re back with up-close photos and a first-ever look at the packaging! The backer card is custom illustrated by Christopher Ott and Geoffrey Trapp.
