Its dark spin on a Superman-like origin story was teased in its first trailer, and now IGN has exclusively revealed a new trailer for Brightburn that dives deeper into the superhero horror movie, showing that unlike Spider-Man, great power does not always come with great responsibility, but instead great carnage.
You can check out the new trailer below, courtesy of IGN, featuring Jackson A. Dunn as Brandon Breyer aka Brightburn, a troubled extraterrestrial who seems more intent on wiping out mankind with his superpowers than saving it.
"What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister?
With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror."
Brightburn was directed by David Yarovesky, written by Mark Gunn & Brian Gunn, and produced by James Gunn and Kenneth Huang. The cast includes Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones and Meredith Hagner. The movie will be released to theaters on May 24th, 2019.
