It's been a while since we've seen a new long-running anthology genre series and we miss the days of catching new episodes of Tales From the Crypt, The Twilight Zone, and Tales From The Darkside. We've heard reports of the first two titles potentially being rebooted and a new report reveals that a reboot of Tales From The Darkside is in the works.

According to Deadline, The CW is spearheading this effort with Alex Kurtzman, Bob Orci, and Joe Hill. The original 1984 series came from George A. Romero and was a TV spinoff of his Creepshow efforts. An interesting thing to note is that Joe Hill, who will handle writing duties for the new series, is Stephen King's son and appeared in the original Creepshow.

Previously, Alex Kurtzman, Bob Orci, and Joe Hill worked together on a TV adaptation of Locke & Key at Fox, but it never moved past the pilot order. This is an early announcement, so a new Tales From The Darkside series is far away from seeing the light of day, but we'll keep readers posted on any developments.
