The Crow Lawsuit Settled

Relativity Media may have lost the director and actor of their planned reboot of The Crow, but they have the settled their lawsuit with The Weinstein Company.

The Weinstein Company, which distributed The Crow in 1994 under Miramax, claimed to have exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the reboot. Relativity previously issued a statement claiming otherwise, and it looked like they were going to fight it in court, but now the two companies have reached an agreement:

“The lawsuit between Relativity Media and The Weinstein Company concerning THE CROW has been amicably settled out of court, and the parties will continue to work on the film together as planned. In addition, Relativity Media has dismissed all of its claims against The Weinstein Company for any wrongdoing regarding the release and distribution of NINE, and The Weinstein Company has dismissed all of its claims against Relativity Media.”

Last summer, Relativity announced a reboot of The Crow with Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later) directing and Bradley Cooper starring. Bradley Cooper dropped out in August, Fresnadillo dropped out in October, and we haven't heard much on the project since. Relativity is still moving forward with this project, however, and we'll report back as soon as a new director/actor is on board.
