Last year, Daily Dead was proud to once again sponsor and experience this year's Overlook Film Festival, which took place in the historic (and quite possibly haunted) confines of New Orleans, and for its anticipated fourth year, the festival is returning to The Big Easy May 28th–31st for another weekend of immersive events, essential screenings, and live performances.
Early bird passes for Overlook Film Festival 2020 are already on sale through New Year's, and we'll keep you updated on the screenings and immersive experiences that will take place at the highly anticipated horror-themed festival as more details are revealed. A MESSAGE FROM THE ORGANIZERS:
Whether you're an Overlook regular or a newly curious fan, we wanted to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support and let you know about our plans for the 2020 festivities. The Overlook Film Festival is a volunteer-run labor love dedicated to crafting a unique weekend experience and showcasing the very best in horror from both emerging voices and master artists.
Our small but eager team has been hard at work for months planning what promises to be our most exciting edition. The festival was created to gather a community of genre fans to celebrate horror in all of its forms together and our focus this year is on making the weekend the best summer camp experience yet!
Festival goers will be able to rally around a central hub with most activities in one place. New screening venues will offer the finest presentation of films we've ever had along with an after-hours gathering spot. Curated activities will be scheduled with less overlap so that bespoke horror activities can be enjoyed communally. Most importantly, we've reduced pass prices and are bringing lodging discounts as soon as we get them to make the whole weekend as affordable as possible to as many genre fans as we can.
Immersive experiences will always be an important part of what we do, and pieces for our curated program are already being scouted from all over the country. And an all new Overlook Immersive game is being designed in the shadows, one that will be unlike any that we've presented before.
We are constantly shaping the festival to make sure we can offer the very finest in all things horror in the hopes of showing our favorite art and artists to our fellow weirdos who love this work as much as we do. Thank you for finding us! We can't wait to show you what we're working on in May.
Your Caretakers,
The Overlook Film Festival Team
