Gale Anne Hurd is known for her work on The Terminator, Aliens, and more recently, The Walking Dead. However, her interest in TV isn't stopping at the living dead. It is being reported that she's developing a World War II sci-fi drama for USA Network.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is named Horizon and "centers on a secretary at the FBI who discovers that her husband might have been killed in a battle with a spaceship in the South Pacific. Obsessed with learning the truth, she becomes the only person standing between Earth and an alien invasion."

The deal is being referred to as a cast-contingent pilot order, which means that it's very likely to move forward, but it will be fully approved once the cast is locked in. Burn Notice's Bridget Tyler is also involved in the project as writer and executive producer. Gale Anne Hurd will be on board as an executive producer under her Valhalla Entertainment banner.

On top of Horizon, Gale Anne Hurd is also developing another sci-fi series for AMC, titled Area 51. For more details on that project, visit our previous coverage at:  http://dailydead.com/gale-anne-hurd-and-amc-team-up-on-area-51-tv-series/
