"Mad Cave Studios Unveils Supernatural Historical Horror Series that Explores the Darkest Corners of Human Nature Amid the Plague."
Thanks to Mad Cave Studios, we're excited to give Daily Dead readers an exclusive first look at the "hauntingly complex ride" that is The Pale Knight, a new six-issue comic book mini-series "that plunges readers deep into the deadly world of the Black Death, where the lines between life, death, and morality blur in the most chilling way!" I love a good historical horror story, and, after checking out the first covers and preview pages (which you can see below), it looks like we're in for something really special with this new series.
Written by Peter Milligan, The Pale Knight features illustrations by Val Rodrigues, colors by Cristiane Peter, and letters from Dave Sharpe, with Cover A by Nick Marinkovich and Cover B by Guiseppe Camuncoli.
“The Pale Knight has a particular, terrible resonance, set as it is in a world suffering from an even deadlier plague that decimated populations in the 1340s,” said Peter Milligan. “This book blends my love for Bergman’s iconic The Seventh Seal with my fascination for the Black Death to craft a horror story that feels both timeless and disturbingly modern. Val Rodrigues’s stunning art brings this apocalyptic world to life in a way that perfectly captures the moral torment and supernatural horrors of this tale.”
"This thrilling supernatural horror series promises to keep you questioning your limits of love and sacrifice. For fans of the thought-provoking, surreal horror and the dark, atmospheric storytelling of Season of the Witch, The Pale Knight #1 will be available in shops on May 28th."

"England, 1349. Sir Hugh de Grey, the Pale Knight, returns from war to find a land ravaged by the Black Death, and his son dying of the plague. When he prays to God to save his son’s life, it is not God who answers—but Death himself. And Death is willing to cut a deal."
