“This is How the End of the World Begins…” – T-Shirts Revealed for AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE: MAUSOLEUM EDITION VOL. 1 Kickstarter Campaign

2026/10/29 14:00:28 +00:00 | Derek Anderson

Written by the innovative Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (several years before Riverdale premiered) and illustrated by renowned artist Francesco Francavilla, Afterlife with Archie forever changed the world of Archie Comics, transforming "the town with Pep!" into the "the town with living dead" and throwing some of the most wholesome characters from comic book history into a grim, blood-soaked battle for survival against their flesh-eating family and friends. Suffice to say that as a lifelong fan of Archie Comics, I absolutely loved it.

That's why, 13 years later (and with an Afterlife with Archie series coming to Disney+ in 2027), I'm even more excited than Jughead with a mouth-watering cheeseburger (or zombie Jughead with a juicy arm) to see that Oni Press and Archie Comics are teaming up to publish Francesco Francavilla's "raw, unexpurgated black-and-white linework" from the groundbreaking comic book series in Afterlife with Archie: Mausoleum Edition Vol. 1.

With the massive hardcover collection now available first on Kickstarter with perks aplenty for supporters, we have an exciting look at two killer T-shirts from the campaign, including one that warns readers that "this is how the end of the world begins…"

You can check out the Afterlife with Archie T-shirts below, and we also have the official press release with additional details. To learn more about Afterlife with Archie: Mausoleum Edition Vol. 1, visit:

From the Press Release: PORTLAND, OR (October 29, 2026) BACK FROM THE GRAVE … IN BRUTAL BLACK & WHITE! Oni Press – the multiple Eisner and Harvey Award-winning publisher of groundbreaking comics and graphic novels since 1997 – and the world-renowned Archie Comic Publications, Inc. are proud to introduce a new and chilling perspective on the ultimate Archie Comics horror tale ever told with the AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE: MAUSOLEUM EDITION VOL. 1 – a new staggeringly oversized, 11x17” hardcover re-representing Eisner Award-winning artist Fracesco Francavilla’s raw, unexpurgated black-and-white linework in a tombstone-sized format so haunting that it could only be called the “Mausoleum Edition.”

In the days before Halloween 2013, Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and the rest of Riverdale’s beloved icons found themselves utterly transformed and powerfully reimagined as the comic industry’s most unlikely and unexpected horror anti-heroes within the pages of Harvey Award-winning writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Eisner Award-winning artist Francesco Francavilla’s AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE – detonating the first blast of a sold-out, smash-hit series that would immediately and definitively redefine the art and intensity of Archie Comics for a new generation. Unrelentingly celebrated by critics and ferociously followed by fans, AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE immediately became a jugular-ripping legend in its own time – due in no small part to the terrifying, tense, and uncannily atmospheric artwork of illustrator Francesco Francavilla, who quickly defined himself as one of his generation’s most instantly iconic and sought-after artists over the course of the series’ gut-wrenching run.

Now, on the cusp of the of the upcoming AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE live-action streaming series adaptation slated to debut on Disney+ in 2027, Oni Press and Archie Comics are pulling back the curtain to reveal Francavilla’s complete interior artwork and covers from AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE #1-6 in crisp and creepy B&W at the size of full-scale comics artboard and remastered by the artist himself.

Debuting first on Kickstarter on October 29 at 10 am ET / 7 am PT, AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE: MAUSOLEUM EDITION VOL. 1 alongside a trove of exclusive add-ons and merchandise – including signatures by co-creators Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Francesco Francavilla, specialty AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE single issue and graphic novel reprints, high-quality t-shirts, enamel pins, limited-edition posters, and more – the Kickstarter campaign is the ultimate way for readers, collectors, and appreciators of original art to experience every disturbing detail of a once-in-a-lifetime horror comics masterpiece … as rendered by a truly legendary talent of the comics medium.
