Universal Resurrects Ouija

Ouija was originally a supernatural adventure project, with McG directing and a $100+ million budget. Universal canceled that film last year, but a new report reveals that it has been resurrected and taken in a new direction.

Deadline reports that Ouija is still set to be produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes, but Paranormal Activity/Insidious producer Jason Blum is now on board. The plan is to create a $5 million film based on the recent success of films like Chronicle, Project X, and The Devil Inside. While it hasn't been confirmed, it sounds like found footage is likely, unless they are planning on going low budget with something similar to Insidious.

There are no other details at this time, except for the fact that the film has a planned 2013 release. We'll provide additional details as soon as anything is made official.
