It was revealed last November that Eli Roth would produce two new projects, titled Clown and Aftershock. We haven't heard any real news since then, but producer Brian Oliver gave a status update on both projects in a recent interview.

While talking with Collider, Brian Oliver mentions that Aftershock and Clown will be filming early next year:

"We want to do [Aftershock] in the first quarter of next year. We then have Clown with Eli Roth, which we want to do immediately after that. That’s a haunted clown genre picture that Eli is producing."

He also confirmed last year's report that Eli Roth would not direct either picture, but says that Roth may write and star in Clown. For those that have not seen the original Clown trailer, we've included it below. It is a mock trailer that was released by Jon Watts and Christopher D. Ford, which featured Eli Roth's name, even though he was unaware the of the trailer's existence. The video went viral and got the attention of numerous websites, horror fans, and Eli Roth, himself.

The original report on Aftershock revealed that it will be set "during the aftermath of the February 27, 2010 Chilean earthquake that hit 8.8 on the Richter scale, created a tsunami and claimed the lives of more than 480 in one terrifying event".

As for when we'll see the next film directed by Eli Roth, Brian Oliver mentions that Roth is currently writing a script for his next film and that it could start shooting early next year. Is this the sci-fi idea he's been working on, Thanksgiving, or something completely new? If he plans to film early next year, we should start hearing more about this project soon.
