"It could look like someone you know, or it could be a stranger in a crowd. Whatever helps it get close to you. It can look like anyone... but there's only one of it." The sunny summer turns sinister for 19-year-old Jay when a creeping, transformative force enters her life in It Follows, the second film from The Myth of the American Sleepover writer/director David Robert Mitchell—one that, like his debut, takes place in Detroit. Ahead of the horror film's theatrical release on March (Friday the) 13th, a new clip has been released that teases the eerie end to Jay's date.
“For 19-year-old Jay (Monroe), the fall should be about school, boys and weekends at the lake. Yet, after a seemingly innocent sexual encounter she suddenly finds herself plagued by nightmarish visions; she can’t shake the sensation that someone, or something, is following her. As the threat closes in, Jay and her friends must somehow escape the horrors that are only a few steps behind.”
Written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, It Follows stars Maika Monroe (The Guest, Labor Day), Keir Gilchrist (It’s Kind of a Funny Story), Daniel Zovatto (Beneath), Olivia Luccardi (Girls), Jake Weary (Zombeavers), and Lili Sepe (Spork).
