Every time I think I've seen it all when it comes to zombies, and then something comes along that surprises me. This is the case with the official announcement trailer for Dead Island. While only a cinematic trailer, it is worth watching even if you aren't a gamer. This is easily one of the best and most effective cinematic trailers I've seen for a video game in a while.

Dead Island is described as a "first-person zombie-slasher/action-RPG" and will be available for the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 later this year. The name may sound familiar, because this game was announced way back in 2007. I remember seeing game trailers from years ago and am glad to see that it is almost ready for release.
