Weekend Box Office Update

2013/11/17 20:36:53 +00:00 | Jonathan James

With only one major release this weekend, it's no surprise that Thor: The Dark World managed to hold onto first place once again at the box office. The sequel earned another $38.4 million over the weekend, bringing its US total to $149.9 million.

Although it didn't take the top spot in it's opening weekend, The Best Man Holiday has nothing to complain about. With a modest production budget of $17 million, the comedy earned $30.5 million during it's first weekend and should continue to do well over the holiday season.

Everything else in the top ten was unable to crack the $10 million mark. Bad Grandpa is a week or two away from crossing the $100 million mark and Gravity has earned $240 million since opening. Next week sees the release of Delivery Man and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Here are the top ten results for this weekend:

1. Thor: The Dark World - $38,454,000
2. The Best Man Holiday - $30,593,000
3. Last Vegas - $8,850,000
4. Free Birds - $8,300,000
5. Bad Grandpa - $7,670,000
