Weekend Box Office Update

There was no doubt that Captain America: The Winter Soldier would win the weekend, but it exceeded expectations and broke records by earning more than $96 million at the US box office. Captain America: The Winter Soldier was produced for an estimated $170 million and it will have no problem earning that back in the US alone. The latest Marvel movie broke the record for the highest US opening in April and took in an additional $207 million internationally.

Noah placed second with $17 million this weekend and has earned $72.3 million in the US since opening. The movie has earned $178.5 million worldwide. Divergent took third place and crossed the $100 million mark in the US, while God's Not Dead continues to perform well and placed fourth with $7.7 million this weekend.

Next week sees the release of Oculus, Draft Day, and Rio 2. Here are the top ten results for this weekend:
