Captain America: The Winter Soldier held onto the top spot for three weeks, but it was taken down by The Other Woman this weekend. The Nick Cassavetes-directed comedy earned a respectable $24.7 million in its opening weekend at the US box office. Produced for an estimated $40 million, Fox should be very happy with the movie's performance.

In second place was the Captain America sequel, earning $16 million and bringing its US total to $224.8 million. To date, The Winter Soldier has earned $645 million worldwide. Heaven is for Real continues to impress and held onto third place with $13.8 million. With a modest production budget of $12 million, this movie has earned $51.9 million since opening.

The Quiet Ones was the new horror release this week and it had a tough time finding an audience, placing seventh and earning only $4 million. This is much lower than Hammer's previous release, The Woman in Black, but it didn't have the same distributor, theater count, or star power to propel it.

Next week will see a new first place holder at the box office, when Sony releases The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on over 4,000 theaters in the US. Here are the top ten results for this weekend:

1. The Other Woman - $24,700,000
2. Captain America: The Winter Solider - $16,048,000
3. Heaven is for Real - $13,800,000
4. Rio 2 - $13,650,000
5. Brick Mansions - $9,600,000
6. Transcendence - $4,105,000
7. The Quiet Ones - $4,000,000
8. Bears - $3,606,000
9. Divergent - $3,600,000
10. A Haunted House 2 - $3,265,000
