Weekend Box Office Update

Guardians of the Galaxy once again claimed the top spot at the box office and is now the highest grossing movie of the year in the US. To date, Guardians has earned $274.6 million in the US and $547.7 million worldwide. As mentioned previously, a sequel is already moving forward and a release date has been set for July 28th, 2017,

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles took second place with $11.7 million and has earned $162.4 million in the US to date. A sequel is also in the works and will arrive in theaters on June 3rd, 2016. In fourth place is new entry As Above/So Below, which earned $8.3 million in its opening weekend. Pierce Brosnan's The November Man was the other new movie at the box office and placed sixth with $7.6 million.
