Nothing was able to stand up to Puss in Boot, which easily won the weekend, earning an estimated $34 million. Paranormal Activity 3 held strong at second place, earning $18.5 million for the weekend and bringing its domestic total to $81.3 million.

New release In Time slightly underperformed, while The Rum Diary had a disappointing opening considering the fact that it starred Johnny Depp. Next week's big releases include Tower Heist and A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas. Here are the top 10 box office results for this weekend:
