Reader and contributor Gemma St. Clair is back with a new list of horror movie trivia for this weekend:
1. Day of the Dead (1985): Director George Romero has a small cameo in this film. He can be seen playing a zombie pushing a cart near the end of the film.
2. The Descent:- None of the caves in the film are real. They are all man made and were built at Pinewood Studios in London.
3. The Shining: It is said that Jack Nicholson ad-libbed the famous line "Here's Johnny!". It was originally used by Ed McMahon for Johnny Carson's introduction.
4. The Unborn: Rabbi Sendak's name is a reference to children's writer Maurice Sendak who wrote "Where the Wild Things Are".
5. Insidious: In the scene where James is dismissing the class, you can spot a drawing of Billy the Saw puppet on the blackboard.
6. Pet Sematary: Stephen King has a cameo role, playing a priest in the film.
7. 30 Days of Night: In the attic hideout there is a picture of Steve Niles who wrote the original comic book.
8. Horror of Dracula: Christopher Lee only has 13 lines in the whole film and the only character he speaks to is Jonathan Harker.
9. The House on Sorority Row (1983): Lois Kelso Hunt's voice was deemed not scary enough so her voice was completely dubbed over.
10. Planet of the Apes: Although Rod Serling is famous for The Twilight Zone, he also wrote the the original screenplay for Planet of the Apes. While the screenplay received multiple re-writes and had multiple writers, it was Serling who came up with the idea for the film's surprise ending.
