We recently reported that Strike Entertainment is moving forward with a sequel to The Last Exorcism and hired Damien Chazelle to write the sequel. The plan is to begin filming this year, and it looks like at least one familiar face from the original will be making a return.

While promoting The Day in Toronto, Ashley Bell confirmed to Bloody Disgusting that she had signed on for the sequel: "I just signed on for the sequel of Last Exorcism... I'm so excited. I have not seen or heard anything so I don’t know what is going to go down."

Of course, with her returning, we are wondering if we'll be seeing any other cast members from the original film return as well. We were expecting a separate story, but it will be interesting to see how they are going to tie this sequel directly into the events of the past film. With this movie on the fast track, we'll have new plot and casting information in the near future.
