**Spoiler Warning** At this point, we know very little about the second season of American Horror Story, except for the fact that the Harmon's story is done, and the second season will feature a new theme, location, and cast. More details are expected to be announced later this month, but co-creator Ryan Murphy has said that he plans to bring back some of the season 1 actors in new roles. One of those who is interested in returning is Zachary Quinto:

While talking to E!, it sounds like he's up for more episodes if Ryan Murphy wants him on board: "I had an amazing time and I only did four episodes of the season, so it was just a little bit of an appetizer for me. I would love to work more... We'll see what happens! Next season could get turned on its head completely, but I would love to continue work on that. It was a great experience."

When he joined the first season as a guest star, it was originally expected that he'd only have a cameo role in the Halloween episodes. We ended up seeing him in additional episodes and his name brings in viewers, so we wouldn't be surprised to see him return in some capacity. Jessica Lange also mentioned that it was likely we'd see her return in season 2, after her Golden Globe win for playing Constance on the show.
