Run For Your Lives has proven to be a very popular event in the States, with several of this year's races sold out or almost full. The UK now has its own zombie survival event called the Zombie Evacuation Race. It's more than just a race to the finish line, and we have the low-down on all you need to know in order to take part.
The Zombie Evacuation Race is a race for survival as you undertake a 5km track with obstacles to tackle, and a horde of zombies in quick pursuit. Upon registration you can choose whether to be a zombie chaser, complete with gory make-up wounds and fake blood, or run as an evacuee. Several races are occurring throughout the country, with the next one scheduled for October 5th.
"Zombie Evacuation Race will take its brave participants “aka evacuees” through the most terrifying running journey of their lives! Participants will navigate through a 5k forest with a series of obstacles, all while being chased by zombies! Participants will have to make strategic choices along the way to find the quickest route to the finish line with their health still intact.
The entire Zombie Evacuation Race team are avid fans of zombie and post apocalyptic movies. Our team wanted to bring a zombie apocalypse scenario to life and provide the most unique and intense racing experience. We have Hollywood SFX makeup artists and pyrotechnicians involved in making the zombie apocalypse experience as realistic as possible. This is going to be the craziest halloween event… a day you will never forget!
After completing the race as a survivor (or as a newly-created zombie), participants will be able to celebrate at the Post Evacuation Party with a “Zombie Target Practice” range, zombie inspired games and contests with prizes, and delicious food that will make the living dead jealous. Those who are too afraid to race, are invited to apply online to be a zombie in the event, join the cast in various roles, or simply attend as a spectator. The Zombie Evacuation Race race schedule is now available online with various registration packages available for individuals and teams."
