After years of hearing about Maggie, the zombie project picked up steam when it was recently announced that Arnold Schwarzenegger had been cast as the father in a zombie story that follows a family whose daughter has been infected. Chloe Moretz was previously in talks to star, but a new report reveals that Abigail Breslin is in talks to play Maggie.

“Maggie is a 16-year old girl from a town in middle America who becomes infected by a zombie. Much the way that Danny Boyle changed the lumbering zombie stereotype by speeding up the undead in 28 Days Later, Maggie changes the lightning quick infection period evident in most zombie films, where victims become zombies in minutes. It will take six months for Maggie to turn, and the film tracks the transformation as she stays with her family."

According to THR, Breslin is in talks to star in the movie, but a deal is expected to be finalized soon. Commercial director Henry Hobson is still on board to helm this project and production is expected to begin this fall. We'll provide readers with more casting information as soon as it becomes available.
