Welcome to a special Blu-ray edition of the horror round-up! This time we're taking a look at three upcoming home media releases of horror films featuring killers of the monstrous, human, and vampiric variety. This spring will see special two-disc Collector's Edition Blu-ray releases of Jesús Franco's Vampyros Lesbos and She Killed in Ecstasy, and fans of Arnold Laven's creature feature, The Monster That Challenged the World, should be pleased to know that the film will hit home media in high-definition in August from Kino Lorber (special features have yet to be revealed for all three releases).

Vampyros Lesbos (April 14th Blu-ray release): Directed by Jesús Franco, Vampyros Lesbos stars Soledad Miranda, Dennis Price, and Ewa Strömberg.

Synopsis: "Countess Nadine Carody, a vampire with an insatiable thirst for female blood, lures women to her isolated island to love...then kill...her victims! Linda Westinghouse comes to the island and falls under the vampire's seductive spell, only to find a living nightmare she may never be able to escape. A tripped-out mixture of nudity, softcore lesbianism, vampires, outrageous sets and world famous soundtrack, Vampyros Lesbos is now available for the first time ever on home video in the United States. Recently resurfacing as a cult classic after almost thirty years, Vampyros Lesbos has restarted a dance craze phenomenon across the globe with its psychedelic musical score! So, be sure to watch Vampyros Lesbos today...or Countess Carody just might SUCK YOU DRY!"

She Killed In Ecstasy (April 14th Blu-ray release): Directed by Jesús Franco, She Killed In Ecstasy stars Soledad Miranda, Fred Williams, and Paul Muller.

Synopsis: "Dr. Johnson (Fred Williams) lives in bliss with his beautiful wife (Vampyros Lesbos' Soledad Miranda) until his unorthodox experiments with human embryos cause a medical committee to reject his findings and orders him to discontinue his work. The unstable doc does the only sensible thing: slashes his wrists in the bathroom. Devastated, his wife vows to seduce and kill the woman and three men "responsible" for the suicide. Erotic and chilling, this twisted shocker from the mind of Jess Franco (Exorcism, Eugenie) offers a catalog of carnal sins captured even more brilliantly in this digitally remastered edition, a must for fans of Eurocult cinema and classic prog rock/lounge music scores!"

The Monster That Challenged the World (August Blu-ray release): Directed by Arnold Laven off a screenplay by Pat Fielder and a story by David Duncan, The Monster That Challenged the World stars Tim Holt, Audrey Dalton, Hans Conried, Harlan Warde, and Max Showalter.

Synopsis: "An earthquake unleashes a giant mollusk in California's Salton Sea. The site is near a military base and the first victim is a navy skydiver testing parachutes and the two sailors sent to collect him from the water. Soon Naval Investigator Lt. Commander John Twillinger is on the case. They find the sailors' boat which is covered with a white goo. Soon Navy divers are looking for the missing men and recover a large round sac which they recover and sent the base lab. One of the divers is killed in an encounter with the creature and they think the crisis is over. They don't realize that the sac they transported to the lab is in fact the creature's egg and another mollusk hatches, this time on the base..."
