To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, genre fans have a handful of indie horror films and a mind-bending cult classic making their home entertainment bow this week to look forward to. Anchor Bay’s highly anticipated slasher Muck is getting released on Blu-ray and DVD, Arrow Video is resurrecting Mark of the Devil on Blu-ray for fans in the US and Breaking Glass’s latest, A Cry From Within, is also coming to DVD as well.

A Cry From Within (Breaking Glass Pictures, DVD)

After a devastating miscarriage, a family trades their city lifestyle for a quiet life in the country.  Jonathan (Eric Roberts), Cecile (Deborah Twiss) and their two children Ariel and Morgan settle into a rental home in Long Island that was vacated by a woman and her elderly mother. The family soon finds themselves at the mercy of a terrifying and violent manifestation that Ariel identifies as a young boy named Sebastien. In fear for their family, Jonathan and Cecile must unlock the secret that binds Sebastien's torment with the former occupants and the local priest.

Muck (Anchor Bay Entertainment, Blu-ray & DVD)

Throwback horror just raised the blood-soaked bar: Genre legend Kane Hodder and 2012 Playboy Playmate of the Year Jaclyn Swedberg star in this scary, sexy and super-violent indie shocker about a group of teens who are attacked by a depraved clan of backwoods psychopaths.

But for those who survive the marshland massacre, the ultimate butchery may have just begun. It's all sleaze and no tease, packed with old-school gore effects and brutal stunts without any CGI or apologies. Lachlan Buchanan (Pretty Little Liars) co-stars in the first horror film ever released in 4K/Ultra HD that unfolds like a hacked-up love letter to horror fanatics everywhere!

Mark of the Devil (Arrow Video, Blu-ray/DVD Combo)

A bloody and brutal critique of religious corruption, Mark of the Devil sees horror icon Udo Kier (Flesh for Frankenstein, Suspiria) play a witchfinder’s apprentice whose faith in his master (Herbert Lom) becomes severely tested when they settle in an Austrian village. Presided over by the sadistic albino (a memorably nasty turn from Reggie Nalder), the film presents its morality not so much in shades of grey as shades of black.

Written and directed by Michael Armstrong, who would later pen Eskimo Nell, The Black Panther and House of the Long Shadows, this classic shocker has lost none of its power over the years.
