Marvel is not shying away from big announcements at their much-anticipated Hall H Comic-Con panel, as they've just revealed that Evangeline Lilly and Corey Stoll have been cast as the female lead and antagonist, respectively, of Ant-Man.

Evangeline Lilly (Lost) will play Hope Van Dyne, the daughter of Michael Douglas' Hank Pym, while Corey Stoll (The Strain) will portray antagonist Darren Cross, aka Yellowjacket in the film, a former protégé of Pym's who takes a dark path after getting his hands on Pym's shrinking suit technology.

The Ant-Man movie is scheduled to be released on July 17th, 2015, and will begin shooting on August 18th. The film also stars Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas. Marvel recently hired director Peyton Reed to replace director/co-writer Edgar Wright after he left the project due to creative differences. Adam McKay (Anchorman films) was brought in to rewrite the original script penned by Wright and Joe Cornish (Attack the Block).

In the comic books, Scott Lang is initially not the hero type, as he steals the shrinking suit technology from the original Ant-Man, Hank Pym. Over time, however, Scott learns to use his newfound powers for good and not thievery.
