Battlestar Galactica's Ronald D. Moore is back with a new TV series at Syfy in two weeks. Titled Helix, we have a look at multiple trailers and viral videos.

"Helix is an intense thriller about a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak, only to find themselves pulled into a terrifying life-and-death struggle that holds the key to mankind's salvation...or total annihilation.

Premiering in January 2014, Helix is the product of some of the biggest names in genre television, starting with Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica). Also Executive Producing are Lynda Obst (Contact) and Steven Maeda (Lost, CSI: Miami, The X-Files)."

Helix will premiere on January 10th at 10:00pm and stars Billy Campbell, Kyra Zagorsky, Jordan Hayes, Hiroyuki Sanada, Catherine Lemieux, Neil Napier, Mark Ghanime, and Meegwun Fairbrother.  If it looks like the series is heavily inspired by The Thing, it's likely intentional. At one point, Moore wrote an unused screenplay for The Thing prequel and we're looking forward to see if he takes the story in more of a horror direction over the course of the series.
