The sequel to last summer's Dawn of the Planet of the Apes doesn't hit cinemas until 2017, but the newly revealed title lets us know that Caesar and company will be gearing up for battle in the franchise's next installment.

Collider reports that the next Planet of the Apes movie is titled War of the Planet of the Apes. The follow-up film to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is slated for a July 14th, 2017 release from Fox. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes director Matt Reeves will return to helm the sequel, likely working from a screenplay he'll write with Dawn co-scriber Mark Bomback.

Though no official cast announcements have been made at this time, we should see Andy Serkis reprise his role as ape leader Caesar. Stay tuned to Daily Dead for further updates on War of the Planet of the Apes.
