To many horror fans, Kane Hodder is Jason Voorhees, and the four-time Friday the 13th actor will reprise his iconic role this fall in Gun Media's Friday the 13th: The Game. With their game's Slasher Backer Campaign underway, Gun Media recently released a behind-the-scenes video of Kane Hodder performing Jason's kills in the game with motion capture technology.

In addition to the behind-the-scenes video, Gun Media has also unveiled two images of the game's Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood version of Jason. Along with the images and video, we have the press release with full details:

Press Release: Lexington, KY -- Feb. 25th, 2016 -- Friday the 13th: The Game showcases new kills performed directly by Kane Hodder, actor of Jason Voorhees along with launching Slasher Backer campaign to attain even more gory and brutal kills! The team wants to show what fans can expect when they fully take control of the iconic killer for the first time in video game history.

After the success of the initial Kickstarter, the team at Gun Media and IllFonic are hard at work bringing Jason Voorhees to life! Kane Hodder, best-known for his portrayal as Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th: Part 7 through Jason X, has donned the motion capture suit to return to his definitive role, even going so far as to injure himself while performing the iconic sleeping bag kill from Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood.

"It was absolutely amazing to work with Kane Hodder and the motion capture studio, Digital Domain to get Jason back in his element,' said Executive Director Randy Greenback . 'This work is a direct result of the help and support we’ve gotten from our amazing fans and we hope to continue the momentum with the Slasher Backer campaign, which is working to fund even more stretch goals not initially attained during the Kickstarter."

"We spent five days shooting the motion capture for Friday the 13th: The Game, and I loved every minute of it.” Said Kane Hodder. “It really wasn't that different from working on the Friday the 13th films. I brought the same energy and brutality to the character. When I played Jason in the films, all of that intensity, all of the rage, was observed passively by the audience. Spectators to a linear story. But this is different. Very different. The audience becomes the participant as they step into my boots. You're not simply watching me, you are me…you are Jason. When you swing the machete, it's exactly how I swing it. When you behead or impale a counselor, it's not a generic animation. It's my actions of strength and power that you wield. That's what excites me most about this project. Fans ask me all the time 'What's it like being Jason?', and for the first time in history, they get to experience that."

The Slasher Backer campaign is currently on-going, with over $60,000 raised thus far. With total funding currently sitting just about $885,000. Additional stretch goals include 3 new counselor characters, each with unique skills added into the game at $925,000, 3 additional kills designed by Hollywood special make-up effects legend Tom Savini are to be added at $950,000, and last but not least are the return of Tommy Jarvis, a playable Pamela Voorhees and even the highly requested single player mode!

Friday the 13th: The Game is being developed for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, for release Fall, 2016.
