Resident Evil: Retribution begins filming later this year, with Paul W.S. Anderson directing and Milla Jovovich returning as Alice. Previously reports revealed filming locations would include Toronto and Tokyo, but Milla Jovovich recently took to her Twitter page to announce that they will be filming in Moscow: "YES! WE ARE DOING A HUGE ACTION SEQUENCE IN RED SQUARE!!!!"

She also confirmed previous reports about the filming start date, saying that principal photography will begin at the end of September. Resident Evil: Retribution will be filmed in 3D and has a scheduled release date of September 14th, 2012. The latest entry in the Resident Evil franchise will continue the storyline from Resident Evil: Afterlife, with a number of characters from the past films expected to return.
