Warner Bros. has shifted the release date of Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. While originally set for a July 12th, 2013 release, we'll now get to see the giant monster movie 2 months earlier on May 10th, 2013. There was no reason given for the date change, but it could have been to avoid other sci-fi releases slated for July 2013 or because they are moving another one of their movies into that slot.

Pacific Rim is expected to start shooting next month and stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, and Charlie Day. “Set in a future in which malevolent creatures threaten the earth, the planet must band together and use highly advanced technology to eradicate the growing menace”.
