At this point, genre fans shouldn't be surprised at any remake announcements. Hollywood would rather rather remake a film than take on original material in most cases, and we have one more to add to the list. According to Vulture, Sony Pictures producer Neal Moritz is going to reboot Starship Troopers and has already hired screenwriters to work on the script.
Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz were chosen to work on the script, based on there recent work on Thor, X-Men: First Class and Fringe. We have no other details at this time, so we don't know if the plan is to deliver something similar to the Paul Verhoeven movie or if it will more closely follow the book. We'll provide an update to this story as soon as more information becomes available.
