Halloween is going to be extra special for many horror fans this year thanks to Netflix's season 2 release of Stranger Things, and if you're already wondering how many seasons the series could go after its sophomore stretch, a new interview on EW sheds some light on the subject.
According to EW, in a recent chat with Stranger Things co-creators Ross and Matt Duffer, they revealed that they could see their series running for "four or five seasons," and it doesn't sound like they'd leave it open for future sequels beyond the original series. Here's what Matt Duffer had to say:
"I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas and they lose it because they’re losing interest."
Ross Duffer wants season 2 to feel like its own cinematic experience, and while a third season has yet to be greenlit by Netflix, he did confirm to EW that they are thinking about future adventures:
"Hopefully you’ll come to the end of season 2 and feel fully satisfied and want more but you’ll feel like it has come to a conclusion. But also we’ve laid the ground work for further seasons."
