There were a good amount of minor news items yesterday, so we wanted to cover them all briefly. The general plan will be to dedicate new news posts for bigger items that appeal to us and our readers, but I think there were enough minor announcements in the last 24 hrs to merit a morning roundup.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters has been given an official release date of March 2, 2012. The film stars Gemma Arterton, Jeremy Renner, and Famke Janssen. Source.

The Glee team of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk had produced Nip/Tuck for FX and are now working on a new horror television show for the network. Right now, all we know is that it is going to be called American Horror Story. There is no word on the plot or type of show it will be. Source.

Now that MGM has saved itself financially, it is getting back to releasing new pictures. Although previously mentioned prior to their money troubles, it has been announced that they are still looking into remakes for Robocop and Poltergeist. Source.

Shane Black (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) has signed on to direct Iron Man 3. This is not horror related except for the fact that he was tapped to direct Death Note for Warner Bros. Iron Man 3 shouldn't be due out until summer 2013, so I'm hoping Death Note is up first, but we'll see.... Source.
