The Breach may have been closed in Pacific Rim, but that doesn't mean it can't be opened in the upcoming sequel, Pacific Rim Uprising. Early next year, we'll see the return of the Jaegers and the Kaiju on the big screen, and to help hold fans over, actor John Boyega is giving fans a look at a new poster for the film.

Revealed on Twitter, you can view the new Pacific Rim Uprising poster below. Scheduled for a March 23rd, 2018 release, Legendary and Universal's Pacific Rim Uprising stars John Boyega (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Attack the Block) as the son of Stacker Pentecost, the character portrayed by Idris Elba in the original film. The cast also includes Cailee Spaeny, with Scott Eastwood expected to play a key role as well. Boyega’s UpperRoom Productions is producing the project along with Thomas Tull, Mary Parent, Jon Jashni, and Guillermo del Toro.

Pacific Rim Uprising was helmed by Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Netflix’s Daredevil), who took the directing reins of the sequel to Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 film. Derek Connolly (Jurassic World) was brought on to work on the screenplay for the new Pacific Rim movie, with an earlier draft written by Jon Spaihts (The Mummy, Doctor Strange, Prometheus).

Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more updates on Pacific Rim Uprising, including the official trailer, and in the meantime, let us know what you think of the new poster below.
