PlayStation no doubt had audience members squirming in their seats at Paris Games Week with the unveiling of a harrowing and viscerally violent trailer for The Last of Us Part II.
A follow-up to 2013's survival horror video game, The Last of Us Part II takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where most of the human population has been transformed into flesh eating monsters. A Naughty Dog production released by Sony Computer Entertainment, The Last of Us was a cinematic experience as much as it was an immersive video game, and the new trailer for the sequel shows that Part II will continue to build on its predecessor's visual spectacle and emotional ties.
As evidenced by the new trailer, in the world of The Last of Us, the leftover humans can be more vicious than the infected that prowl the Earth, making survival—and retaining your humanity and sanity—all the more difficult.
A release date for The Last of Us Part II has yet to be announced, but stay tuned to Daily Dead for more details, watch the new trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments!
